WHITBY, Ont. _ For the second time in a week, a Durham police officer has been charged with assault while on duty.

WHITBY, Ont. _ For the second time in a week, a Durham police officer has been charged with assault while on duty. Const. Glen Turpin, 38, was allegedly in a physical confrontation in a holding cell in March 2006 and again at a holding cell in June of last year. Both incidents allegedly happened at a police station in Whitby, Ont. The 17-year veteran has been suspended with pay. Last week, Const. Craig Wiles was charged with two counts of assault.
