NEW YORK _ A man who is charged with stalking supermodel and talk show host Tyra Banks has been ordered to stay away from her or face going to jail. Brady Green has followed Banks from coast to coast since January, sent her letters and flowers and tried to telephone her, said a criminal complaint. Last week, he was issued a court order requiring him to leave her alone. Green, who is from Georgia, was arrested when he showed up several times March 18 at the Manhattan building where ``The Tyra Banks Show'' is taped and asked to speak with her, a misdemeanour complaint filed in Criminal Court states. The complaint says building custodian Edward Troiano told police Green also appeared at Banks' Los Angeles studio ``on multiple occasions'' and asked to speak with her. He said Green had sent her letters and flowers and had tried to reach her by telephone at least five times, the complaint says. Police charged Green, 37, with stalking, criminal trespass and harassment. He was released without bail after his arraignment last week and ordered back to court May 13. The New York Post newspaper said studio staffers were worried Green would return. The paper said they were handing out photos of Green on Friday with a warning to stay away from him. A telephone call to Green's lawyer was not immediately returned Monday. Prosecutors said they did not have an address for Green, who likely could face up to a year in jail if convicted. © 2007 The Canadian Press |
